Managing the diabetes is NOT SCIENCE, It’s an ART

Diabetes has become very common these days. According to World Health Organization(WHO) report, 422 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes on the year 2014. Every year the number is on the rise.

What is Diabetes?

I was having this question, and when I searched youtube I found this informative video

that explains the real cause of diabetes and its symptoms.

What are the symptoms?

  • Blurred Vision
  • Thirst
  • Tiredness
  • Weight Loss
  • Frequent Urination
  • Slow Healing
  • genital Itching

Ways to Control?

  1. Eat less sugar/refined carbohydrates

Eating less sugar and refined carbs is the best way to keep the blood sugar levels down. If the consumption of sugar becomes less, the metabolic rate will be reduced that in turn reduces sugar levels.

2. Eat more protein and fat

Cutting down the carbs and increase the lean food sources like eggs, chicken breast, turkey breast etc are all helps in reducing the blood sugar level. The lean food sources controls the spike in blood sugar level.

3. Increase activity

Increasing your daily activities like walk, jog etc helps in regulating the blood sugar levels.

4. Get regular exercise

Moderate activity like going for a walk after a meal will have immediate benefits, but including more intense activity can provide more long-term benefits. Resistance exercise, cycling, swimming, jogging, or any other form of regular exercise can improve the way our body metabolizes sugar, and can create long-lasting benefits to improve and maintain health.

5. Eat smaller meals

Too much of a meal will give hard time for the body to break down and absorbing the nutrients. Big meals that is high in carbs will be like double trouble. Refined sugars are absorbed quickly and make the pancreas secretes excess insulin. Eating small portions of meals at regular intervals helps control the insulin levels on the body. Rather than having 3 meals, 5 or 6 meals of small portions will benefit our body.

6. Cinnamon

Adding cinnamon to spice up your favorite foods or taking it as a supplement can also help lower blood sugar without medicine.

7. Chromium

Chromium is an essential mineral that plays vital role in regulating blood sugar levels. Adding chromium supplement after consulting your physicians helps regularize blood sugar.

8. Green tea

Finally, tea breaks are good. Green tea helps in boosting the metabolism and reduce weight, both of these plays significant role in regulating blood sugar and controlling diabetes.
